Turning Technologies Offers Software Development Kit for Audience Response Hardware

Audience Response Developer Opens API to ResponseCard IR and RF Wireless Handheld Keypads

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – June 3, 2008 - Turning Technologies LLC, a leader in the audience response industry, today announced the immediate availability of ResponseCard® Software Development Kit (SDK). The ResponseCard SDK, designed to speed understanding and integration for software developers and content publishers, includes a fully functional API for ResponseCard IR and RF response keypads, hardware test kit, documentation, and code samples.

“It is very difficult for technology companies in other industries to develop audience response hardware due to time, resources, and patent barriers. Due to the tremendous success of ResponseCard IR and RF keypads in both the corporate and education markets, there has been significant interest from third party software developers to incorporate ResponseCard technology into their own applications,” said Mike Broderick, Turning Technologies’ CEO.

Turning developed the API in Java™, .NET, and Cocoa for maximum application flexibility as well as the ability to integrate ResponseCard response technology into the rapidly expanding world of web-based applications. The open API will enable a variety of applications to take advantage of ResponseCard hardware and provide a proven response technology solution to their end users.

Many applications, particularly assessment applications, require a 1:1 ratio of computers to students/participants. However, often times this ratio is not available in many learning and training environments. Schools and organizations that do not have an adequate supply of computers will be able to reap the benefits of assessment products that integrate with Turning’s ResponseCard technology.

Other integration examples include training simulations, polling/survey applications, and the voting markets. Focus groups and market research firms will also be able to integrate ResponseCard technology into their data collection solution, and higher education institutions could take advantage of the hardware technology in their own application development.

“While we’ve identified a variety of immediate markets that can easily take advantage of our ResponseCard SDK, we understand that innovation can come from very unlikely places and look forward to hearing from entrepreneurs and established organizations that have thought of interesting ways to leverage our ResponseCards with their products. The SDK gives an open invitation to new innovative markets that haven’t been explored,” stated Broderick.

The ResponseCard SDK consists of the following:

5 ResponseCard RF keypads
1 ResponseCard RF receiver
ResponseCard API with documentation
Small Carrying Case

The SDK is available via application to approved developers and content providers.
