LinuxLink for the OMAP 35x leverages the architecture’s powerful suite of high-performance multimedia features, including audio, video and image processing. With this LinuxLink, subscribers will get web-based access to a Linux platform that has been pre-complied, integrated and tested for the Texas Instruments OMAP 35x EVM reference platform, including a 2.6.26 Linux kernel, toolchain and hundreds of prebuilt, ready-to-use RFS packages. Additionally, subscribers will have access to TimeStorm development tools, web-based support and a vast suite of documentation to customize and test their embedded Linux platform for a given multimedia application. “This LinuxLink is our first to support the recently released 2.6.26 kernel as well as support the ARM® Cortex™-A8 core architecture,” said Greg Quiggle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Timesys. “Given the strong initial demand, we will likely expand this LinuxLink within the coming weeks to add support for additional OMAP-based reference platforms and further expand the available pre-compiled multimedia package offerings.” Information about LinuxLink subscriptions for Texas Instruments processors is available at http://www.timesys.com/products/processors/texas_instruments/overview/ About Timesys Timesys is the provider of LinuxLink, a web-based software subscription for both first-time and experienced embedded Linux developers.
